Barista

you had me at latte! we are looking for someone passionate about all things coffee, retail and of course, supporting local Tucson businesses!

job type: part time

compensation: $16 hourly plus tips

The Barista & Retail Associate is an essential member of the Sonoran House team. As the Barista & Retail Associate, you should be knowledgeable in the coffee bar equipment, drink menus, food menus and retail products. You’ll be working as a team to make customers feel welcomed, connect with regulars and create quality beverages. You’ll also be responsible for correctly processing orders, restocking inventory and maintaining a clean, professional environment.


Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service

  • Greet and nurture connections with customers

  • Inform customers of specials and answer questions

  • Prepare standard and specialized drinks per company recipe guidelines

  • Address and resolve customer issues in a polite and effective manner

  • Process both retail and coffee bar orders

  • Ensure guests are of legal age to consume alcohol

  • Receive and process cash and credit card payments

  • Restock retail inventory and maintain clean, organized retail displays

  • Work alongside bar staff to fulfill customer food & drink orders

  • Clear and wipe down cafe tables throughout the day

  • Clean and maintain brewing equipment and report any malfunctions

  • Keep all areas of the store professional, clean and organized

  • Follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines with care

Requirements

  • Previous Barista experience required (must be able to do latte art)

  • Passion for community and customer service

  • Positive, team-first attitude and the ability to multitask in a flexible environment

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time

  • High attention to detail and dedication to cleanliness

  • Availability to work around peak hours, including early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays
