Coffee & Bar Assistant

we are looking for someone passionate about all things coffee, retail and of course, supporting local tucson businesses!

Job Type: Part-time

Compensation: $16 per hour base plus tips

The Coffee and Bar Assistant is an essential team member, connecting service between the coffee and bar. As the Coffee and Bar Assistant, you should be knowledgeable in the drink menus, food menus and retail products. You’ll be working as a team to make customers feel welcomed, connect with regulars and ensure there is a flow between the major areas of the cafe. You’ll also be responsible for correctly processing orders, restocking inventory and maintaining a clean, professional environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service

  • Greet and nurture connections with customers

  • Inform customers of specials and answer questions

  • Address and resolve customer issues in a polite and effective manner

  • Work alongside coffee and bar staff to fulfill seated customer food & drink orders

  • Accurately take orders and process credit card payments

  • Ensure guests are of legal age to consume alcohol

  • Deliver food and drink orders to seated customers

  • Barcode incoming retail inventory

  • Restock retail, beer, and wine inventory and maintain clean, organized retail displays

  • Clear and wipe down cafe tables throughout the day

  • Keep all areas of the store professional, clean and organized

  • Follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines with care

Requirements

  • Previous retail, customer service or restaurant experience preferred

  • Passion for community and customer service

  • Positive, team-first attitude and the ability to multitask in a flexible environment

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time

  • High attention to detail and dedication to cleanliness

  • Availability to work around peak hours, including early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays
